Agent: A playable character in Valorant. Each has a unique set of abilities. Ento would be one of these characters
Role: Agents are sorted into four classes. Ento is an Initiator that means a character built to help teammates get into areas safely by gathering info and disrupting enemies first
Duelist: A role designed for players who look for kills and go in first.
Controller: A role focused on blocking vision and controlling areas of the map, usually with smokes or walls
Omega/Alpha: Two parallel universes in the world of Valorant, used to collaborate together now agents from Omega come and steal Radianite (a valuable resource used for energy that appeared randomly one day triggering mutations in some living things, these beings are called Radiant if they are human and Radiavore if they are animals) from the Alpha universe (premise of the story of Valorant)
Kingdom Corporation: the biggest organization on Alpha, Kingdom seeks to harness the power of radianite. By doing so, they have been able to make huge scientific advancements, including new methods for how the planet produces its energy. Their growing global influence however has been met with resistance by some of Alpha's citizens who feel the corporation doesn't truly have everyone's best interests at heart
Round: A short match segment (~1–2 mins). Each round, players buy gear and abilities, then try to plant or defend a bomb
Spike / Plant / Defuse: The "bomb" in Valorant is called the Spike. Attackers try to plant it; defenders try to defuse it before it detonates
Site: One of two (or three) marked areas on the map where attackers can plant the Spike. "Taking site" means capturing that area
Post-plant: The phase after the Spike has been planted. Attackers try to protect it and defenders try to retake the area and defuse
Retake: When defenders have lost control of a site, they push back in to take it back and defuse before the Spike goes off
C / Q / E / X: Keyboard keys used to activate abilities on default. C, Q, and E are regular abilities and X is the ultimate aka the most powerful, least frequent one
Ultimate / Ult: A powerful ability that can only be used once charged. Charging happens by getting kills, dying or collecting orbs scattered around the map
Orbs: Glowing collectibles on the map that contribute toward charging an ultimate ability
Signature ability: One free ability every agent gets back each round without paying for it, refilled every round and sometimes on a timer
Charges: How many uses of an ability you can hold at once. Like having 2 grenades instead of 1
Cooldown: A waiting period before you can use an ability again after it activates
Reveal / Scan: Temporarily showing enemy positions to your team on screen, through walls. A core intel tool
Deafen: An effect that removes a player's ability to hear game audio so no footsteps, no gunshots and no ability sounds for a short time
Crosshair: The targeting reticle in the centre of the screen used to aim
LMB: Left Mouse Button also used to shoot o trigger certain abilities when used
Intel / Info: Knowledge about where enemies are or what they're doing
Chokepoint: A narrow passage on the map that funnels players through, making it easy to defend or block
Flank: An attack from an unexpected side angle, usually from behind. Flankers are the sneaky threats a team needs to watch out for
Utility: A collective term for abilities and anything that isn't just shooting. "Using utility" means activating your abilities
Smoke: An ability that creates a cloud blocking vision. Common in Valorant for blocking sightlines during pushes
Lurk: When a player moves separately from the team to sneak around, gather info, or attack from a different angle while teammates distract
Execute: A coordinated team push onto a site, usually using multiple abilities at once to overwhelm defenders
Entry: The act of being the first player into a dangerous area. Risky and usually done by duelists after initiators have gathered info and controllers smoked
Fire and forget: An ability you activate and it works on its own, no further input needed
Ranked / Rank: A competitive mode where players are sorted into skill tiers (Iron to Radiant)
VCT / Game Changers: Valorant Champions Tour is the official pro league. Game Changers is a parallel competitive circuit for women and marginalized genders
Premier: A semi-structured competitive format in Valorant between casual ranked and full pro play. Teams draft, plan, and play scheduled matches
Meta: Short for "metagame" and is the currently dominant strategies, agent picks, and playstyles at a given time in the game's life
Pick rate / Win rate: Pick rate = how often players choose an agent from the pool. Win rate = how often their team wins when they do. Both are tracked to measure agent health
ACS: Average Combat Score is a per-round stat that blends kills, assists, damage, and first bloods. A rough measure of how much a player contributed
KDA: Kills / Deaths / Assists ratio. A classic measure of individual combat performance across games
Solo queue: Playing ranked without a pre-made team where you are matched with random teammates. Coordination is harder and less reliable than organized play
Spam / Spammable: Using an ability as often as possible without much thought or setup, just throwing it out repeatedly. A "spammable" ability is cheap or frequent enough that saving it isn't necessary as you can fire it almost every round without running out. Can also refer to spraying down a smoke or a spot with you bullets
Spray: Holding down the fire button and unloading a continuous stream of bullets. Fast and feels aggressive, but accuracy drops off quickly as bullets scatter more the longer you shoot
